Product Safety

Everything we sell is adult apparel, drinkware or wall art. This page sets out the safety rules that actually apply to that range, what we can document, and how to reach us or the CPSC if something is wrong.

What we sell

Our catalog is adult unisex apparel in sizes XS through 5XL, ceramic mugs, and canvas and poster wall art. We do not sell children’s or youth-sized products, and we do not sell sleepwear, certified costumes, toys, doormats, pillows or totes.

Because nothing in our range is designed or intended primarily for children 12 years of age or younger, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) rules for children’s products — lead and phthalate limits, tracking labels and Children’s Product Certificates — do not apply to what we sell. If we ever add youth sizes, this page will be rewritten before those items go on sale and it will name the standards actually tested against.

Standards that do apply to our range

Requirement Rule
Flammability of clothing textiles 16 CFR Part 1610 — the general wearing apparel standard covering ordinary cotton and cotton-blend garments
Fiber content and care labeling 16 CFR Part 423 and the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act — blanks are labeled by the garment manufacturer
Country of origin marking Marked on the blank by its manufacturer
Ceramic drinkware FDA heavy-metal leaching limits for ceramic foodware

What we can document today

We do not hold the mill test reports for the blank garments and mugs we print on. Those blanks are made by third-party manufacturers and supplied through our print provider, and the test documentation sits with them.

We are stating that plainly rather than implying compliance we cannot evidence. If you need documentation for a specific item — for a workplace, a school or a resale requirement — email us and we will request it from the manufacturer and forward whatever they provide.

Not sleepwear, not protective equipment

Our apparel is ordinary clothing. It is not sleepwear, not a certified costume, not flame-resistant and not protective equipment. Like most cotton and cotton-blend fabric it will burn if exposed to flame — keep it away from candles, jack-o’-lanterns with real flames, fire pits and cooking surfaces.

If an adult garment is worn by a younger person

Our smallest size is an adult XS. It is not cut, labeled or tested for children. If a child wears one anyway, adult supervision is recommended, and it must not be used as sleepwear — children’s sleepwear in sizes 9 months through 14 is subject to separate flammability standards (16 CFR Parts 1615 and 1616) that ordinary cotton garments do not meet.

Keep plastic packaging away from infants and small children.

Mugs and wall art

Our ceramic mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe. A mug heated in a microwave gets hot along with its contents. Do not use a mug that is chipped or cracked.

Canvas and poster prints are decorative. Hang them with hardware rated for the weight, keep them away from damp walls and direct heat, and keep any hanging cord out of reach of small children.

Reporting a safety concern

If you believe one of our products presents a safety hazard, tell us at support@customifytee.com and we will investigate immediately.

You may also report directly to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission at SaferProducts.gov or by calling the CPSC hotline at 1-800-638-2772.

Recalls

We have never issued a product recall. If we ever need to, we will post it here, email every affected customer directly, and cooperate with the CPSC.
